Pallets in the main entrance of the supermarket

A good way to use the space is to place pallets or displays at the entrance corridor. The risk with this case is that consumers tend not to go back to the corridor when they have first entered the supermarket. It is therefore important that producers also have the same products on the shelf inside the supermarket. For spot offers this is an ideal opportunity to generate volume.

Remember pricing and try to optimize end shelves

End space/shelves are ideal to use as they work very well visually when a a single product type is on display, this helps reducing the "noise" from other product offerings. A better job to generate attention to the shelf could though be done in the three cases bellow. This could be done via whoplers, shelf talkers or inspiring information leaflets.
The end shelves in ails offer a great opportunity for producers to get a unique position for their product. Still a lot of possibilities to generate more space in the market!

How to generate a learning experience for the consumer

Harrods vine department has a display with different bottles with different scents you can smell. When you press the button besides the bottle a description on the screen is showed where different vine types in which the sense is exposed are mentioned. It is a way to learn the consumers how to smell and look at vine in order to discern the flavor of the vine.  A great way to integrate different senses to the consumer.

How to achieve additional sales when you are queuing

Display with coolers that marks the queueing line. This will definitely generate additional soft drink sales for the producers that have the space in this cooler display.

When you pay for displays and fridges make sure that you follow up

A frequent problem for producers is to control the display solutions they offer. In A Danish supermarket store I found 2 display solutions where the brand on the display was not the brand being sold.

The worst thing is not to have a presentable facing

In Netto a Danish supermarket chain the facing of garbage bags is executed very poorly. The price is correct but the product is presented in a closed box. This will not sell products and will not lead to spontaneous sales.
